EDRMS and ECMS Solutions

Whilst the actual installation of the TRIM® software is a ‘point and click’ exercise, there are numerous design and functionality considerations that require configuration and implementation.

- User Types and Permissions: Identify and control users and how they interact with the system;
- Record Types: Offer control over what your information, documents and records will be called and what information they will contain;
- Security: Mechanisms to ensure that all records under TRIM® control cannot be accessed or altered in any way without access being permitted and the changes being tracked and recorded;
- Locations: Identify the various ownership, usage, access rights and physical location details for records;
- Classification: Process of grouping related records together based on the business functions and activities of an organisation; and
- Retention and Disposal: Guidance on what disposal action should be undertaken on specific records when they are no longer required for active use. It establishes retention periods for specific classes of records and allows organisations to promptly and legally destroy records as required.

TRIM® AND SHAREPOINT
Many organisations are adopting Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) to provide a single platform and interface for their intranet, extranet and business applications.
The HP TRIM® SharePoint integration module allows staff to create, save, manage and retrieve records through SharePoint, while SharePoint interacts in the background with TRIM® Context. The result is the best of both worlds; the easy to use interface of SharePoint and the document and records management functionality and control of TRIM® Context.
A further advantage of using TRIM® Context with SharePoint is the reduction of training required as the concepts are familiar to current SharePoint users.
